Instructions to the students appearing for the university / End semester examinations

Timings for Examinations Fore Noon Session: 09.30 AM - 12.30 PM
After Noon Session: 01.30 PM - 04.30 PM
  • Deposit your bags in the BAG DEPOSIT ROOM in the respective venue of Examination. DO NOT KEEP VALUABLE THINGS in the bag.
  • Identify the correct Hall Number from the display board before going to the examination hall. If your number is not displayed, contact the chief superintendent immediately.
  • If you have not brought the Hall ticket, you can approach the Chief Superintendent for getting the duplicate hall ticket after the payment of prescribed fees
  • If the Hall Ticket is lost, students shall approach the office of the COE immediately, for obtaining duplicate hall ticket
  • Identify the seat number from the seating arrangement notice displayed outside the examination hall
  • Do not come late for the examination. You are expected to be available in the examination hall at least half an hour before the commencement of examination. In rare situations, you will be permitted to enter into the examination hall during the first half an hour from the commencement of the examination.   • Before entering into the hall, check yourself to ensure you do not possess mobile phones, programmable calculators, electronic gadgets, any material notes pertaining to the examination etc
  • Show your HALL TICKET and IDENTITY CARD to the hall invigilator before entering into the hall
  • Do not TALK / GESTURE inside the examination hall
  • Collect your answer booklet and write the registration number, subject code, subject title and date of the examination along with session in the BAR CODING SHEET attached in the answer booklet properly. Shade the appropriate boxes / circles by using BALL POINT PEN. IMPROPER SHADING will lead to rejection of your answer script
  • DO NOT WRITE YOUR REGISTER NUMBER OR NAME INSIDE THE ANSWER BOOK / ADDITIONAL BOOK / DRAWING SHEET/ GRAPH SHEET
  • MOBILE PHONES / PROGRAMMABLE CALCULATORS OR ANY OTHER ELECTRONIC GADGETS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED INSIDE THE EXAMINATION HALL. IF SO, THE MATERIAL(s) WON'T BE RETURNED BACK.
  • Check whether you have collected the correct question paper, also see that all pages are printed or not. If not, intimate to the Hall invigilator immediately
  • Read the special instructions given in the question paper and follow the same. If the question paper contains more than one section, write the answers in the separate answer books
  • Do not commence reading or writing until instructed to do so. Write clearly; illegible answers will not be awarded marks
  • DO NOT WRITE ANYTHING ON THE QUESTION PAPER OTHER THAN YOUR REGISTER NUMBER. WRITING ANY HINT OR NOTE IN THE QUESTION PAPER IS ALSO A KIND OF MALPRACTICE
  • Put your signature and write the Answer Booklet Serial Number in the attendance sheet
  • If you are in the need of any data book, ask for the same to the invigilator at the commencement of the examination. Do not write anything in the special materials issued. Data books/IS codes/Tables brought by the students properly attested by the concerned HOD with seal and should not contain any written material or additional sheets in them
  • Do not tear any pages out of the answer book. Rough working may be done in the last page of the answer book. Clearly cross out rough working before handing over your answer book
  • Bring pen, pencil, scale, calculator, eraser etc that are required for the examination. DO NOT BORROW ANY ARTICLES INSIDE THE EXAMINATION HALL
  • Normally students will not be permitted to go outside the examination hall before handing over answer booklet. In rare situations, students will be permitted to go outside the examination hall for toilets, accompanied by a teacher / attendant
  • Do not leave the hall during the examination and sit for the whole duration
  • If you require any assistance, please raise your hand
  • Stop writing when you are instructed to do so at the end of the examination and REMAIN SEATED UNTIL ALL PAPERS HAVE BEEN COLLECTED and you are told that you may leave the hall
  • Severe penalties apply for misconduct, cheating, possession of unauthorized materials, improper use of materials, unauthorised removal of materials from examination rooms or ignoring the instructions given by supervisors. STUDENTS ARE REMINDED THAT CHEATING IS REGARDED AS AN ACT OF GRAVE MISCONDUCT FOR WHICH THERE ARE HEAVY PENALTIES APPLIED, INCLUDING A FAIL IN THE SUBJECT/ CANCELLATION OF ALL SUBJECTS WRITTEN IN THE SEMESTER / DEBARRING FROM THE EXAMINATION AND POSSIBLE EXPULSION FROM THE Institution

BIHER, announced its 28th Annual Convocation to be held in the city at Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital Auditorium on Sunday, 6th March 2016. The Convocation will witness 2066 candidates including UG/PG/ Ph.D/ Diploma receiving their degrees. Dr.Soumya Swaminathan, Director General ICMR and Secretary, Department of Health Research has consented to be the Chief Guest for this year’s Convocation.

The special feature of the event is that for the first time in the Convocation, SIX Honoris Causa Doctor Degrees will be awarded to the following outstanding contributors and Achievers:

  • Doctor Science (D.Sc.) Honoris Causa degree to Dr. A Sivathanu Pillai, for his outstanding leadership qualities and for his outstanding contributions to the successful development of SLV-3 as the Father of BrahMos.
  • Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.) Honoris Causa degree to Mr. Mickey Munsami, for his outstanding services to the South African Tamil Community, and for his outstanding achievements for making Tamil as a Second Language in South Africa.
  • Doctor of Divinity (DD) honoris causa degree to Senthamizh Velvi Chadurar, Siddhanta Kavimani Thiru. M.P. Sathiyavel Muruganar for his outstanding scholarship in theology and for his exemplary contributions and services to the religious community.
  • Doctor Science (D.Sc.) Honoris Causa degree to Prof.V.Seshaih for his most significant contribution in the public health issue, introducing an economical and evidence based “A SINGLE STEP PROCEDURE” for diagnosing gestational diabetes in the community.
  • Doctor Science (D.Sc.) Honoris Causa degree to Prof.Jayakar Thomas for his outstanding contributions to pediatric dermatology and Tele dermatology.
  • Doctor Science (D.Sc.) Honoris Causa degree to Dr. S.Nambi for his outstanding service in Mental Health Care in India, for his outstanding contributions to Adult Psychiatry, General Hospital Psychiatry, Alcohol and De-Addiction, Forensic Psychiatry & Geriatric Psychiatry and for his exemplary achievements in the Mental Health Needs Assessment & Service delivery in Tsunami Affected Population of Coastal Tamil Nadu.

Dr. M Ponnavaikko, Vice- Chancellor, BIHER, also announce the following new Initiatives of Advanced Research and other steps to develop research and education at Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (BIHER).

1. ‘Pharma Research’ - A pharma Research center has been established to develop herbal based medicine for human healthcare. It is aimed to develop this research as an International center with all facilities to develop, produce and market internationally herbal based medicines for all kinds of metabolic diseases.
2. ‘Metabolic Research’ - A Metabolic Research center has been established providing medical services to the rural population in the Padappai Rural health center of BIHER with all testing facilities for treating the Padappai based rural population for metabolic deceases.
3. ‘Space Research’ - A new Aerospace lab in the name of Salizhan Sharipov has been inaugurated recently for Aerospace Research a high performance computer necessary to carry out numerical simulations of processes like planet re – entry of a space vehicle, mission simulation, structural analysis, and propulsion system analysis along with supersonic jet test facility to help in understanding, designing and testing nozzles used in propulsion systems, the digital electronics facility to aid the design of satellites and communication, navigation and control systems, the structural analysis lab to facilitate the design and testing of composite materials for space vehicles and a wind tunnel facility to help in understanding the flow dynamics during ascent and re – entry, which will enable the students to design enhanced space vehicles.

Enthusiastic five students will be selected for training at the Russian Space Agency under the guidance of Cosmonaut Salizhan Sharipov for a period of two months. The travel and training expenses of the selected students will be sponsored by the Institution and Cosmonaut Salizhan Sharipov. Students will undergo training on space vehicle dynamics, design of space vehicles, re-entry vehicles, and design of propulsion systems, orbiter and landing payloads for missions to other planets. They will also be acquainted to the processes that take place from the launch to the completion of the mission.
